Terry Gilliam.

I’ve gone off Terry Gilliam. My publisher sent him my book 'Art And The Drug Addict's Dog,' suggesting it would make a wonderful movie and he never replied. Mind you, I did write to Johnny Cash once, telling him the lines in ‘Flowers on the Wall’ which went;

Playing solitaire till dawn,
With a deck of fifty one,

Didn’t constitute a proper rhyme and he should consider changing it to;

Playing solitaire till dawn,
With a deck that’s old and worn.

He didn’t reply either and I put him down as an arse with no respect for the common man. It wasn’t until years later I discovered that, at the time of writing, he’d already been dead some years, which does underline the mistake in making hasty and ill-considered assumptions.
